SURVEILL VMS: ACTIVE DIRECTORY

Features that Optimize Your Workflow

Active DirectoryA VMS’s constant stream of video surveillance footage and data is critical to company operations. This information often includes sensitive information such as incidents and other day-to-day happenings that should be kept within the appropriate sphere of access. The sensitive nature of this data requires that a certain level of control over the level of accessibility be maintained. A feature that can aid in maintaining the security of data is the Active Directory.

The Surveill Active Directory is a database of network information. The Surveill VMS active directory tab allows administrators to manage their users and permissions. This has to do with which users are allowed to access certain points of data and their capabilities in regards to handling that data.

With user settings, administrators are able to control who is able to access certain streams. With permissions settings, they are able to restrict what those users with access are able to do with those streams. The distinction between the two allows for customizable data sharing.
